Mentor's hard-hitting safety film wins FLTA Award for Excellence
6th March 2017
We are delighted that our latest forklift safety awareness video has been named winner of the Safety Award at the FLTA’s Awards for Excellence 2017!
The award, presented at the prestigious awards ceremony on Saturday 4th March, was received for our hard-hitting film, “Could you live with that?”, which outlines the full impact of a forklift accident on those involved. It highlights the mental, physical and practical consequences for the victim, their family, and their colleagues and encourages viewers to think twice about their attitudes to safety.
Decided this year by a jury of industry experts, we're proud to hear that they were deeply impressed by the five-minute video, feeling that its clear, arresting safety message immediately gave the impression that "this will save lives" - ultimately resulting in a vote overwhelmingly in its favour.
Targeting awareness throughout the entire workforce
“Could you live with that?” forms part of our Safely Working with Lift Trucks DVD, a 30 minute video developed to improve the safety of the entire workforce by targeting everyone working on and around forklift trucks. Unique in its approach, the video includes valuable guidance, not just for operators, but for pedestrians too, who are actually most at risk - making up 57% of those injured in all forklift accidents.
By producing a video that strikes a chord with both the unaware and the complacent, we hope it will help reduce the risk of forklift accidents industry-wide.
